Authorseal logo

Authorseal - An ethical code of practice which aids creators to be transparent and authentic as to the origins of their work, respectful to fellow creators and ultimately, the customers. Especially with regards to the rise of AI.

These are the simple codes that we ask you to honour to become part of this group and qualify to display the Authorseal logo ~

A declaration that as a matter of conscience ~

1) We will make reasonable efforts, when producing work involving other sources, to identify the origins of the material. Subsequently acknowledging the sources and authors in an appropriate manner.

2) We will make transparent declarations to audiences as to what methods of enhancement, origination or authoring tools have been used in creating work. Especially declaring when AI has been heavily used to change images or generate texts.

In this age of AI scraping, it is important that endusers and authors are aware of the origins of creative work. Harvesting by AI methods are already prolific – strangely, declaring whether an Ethical AI tool 'has or has not been' utilised is fast becoming a unique selling point. At the very least if a declaration of the source of imagery and content is made, then an element of trust is built with the customer.
An 'Authorseal' mark will self-certify that the client and creators have mutual respect (including monetary and/or accreditation) giving a 'proof of humanity' to the end user in this confusing world of what is fake or real.

As membership grows we may produce a public domain list and a live blog to discuss the changing landscape.
